BricksMembers includes an optional Like System that lets logged-in members like your posts, lessons, and other content. It is a simple feature, but it can make dashboards, community pages, and course libraries feel far more alive because members can react to what they are reading without leaving the page.
What the Like System Does
- adds a Like button you can place in Bricks layouts
- tracks whether the current logged-in member has liked a post
- shows a running like count
- lets members toggle between liked and not liked without reloading the page
How to Enable It
Go to BricksMembers → Modules and enable the Like System module. The toggle is saved immediately after confirmation. Once the module is active, the Like button element and the Like System admin screen become available.
Where It Works Best
- course catalogs and lesson lists
- member dashboards
- community resources and article libraries
- featured-content sections where you want quick member feedback
Adding a Like Button in Bricks
Add the BricksMembers Like Button element to your template or page. In most cases you can leave the post ID empty so the element automatically uses the current post context.
You can style the button like any other Bricks element. The current liked state and like count update automatically when a member clicks it.
What Members Need
The Like System is meant for logged-in users. If a visitor is not logged in, BricksMembers shows the login-required message instead of silently recording reactions from anonymous visitors.
Practical Setup Ideas
- show Like buttons in your lesson sidebar to highlight the most appreciated resources
- add them to member-only blog posts to learn which topics resonate most
- use them in curated libraries so staff can quickly see which downloads or lessons members value
- Use Bricks Conditional Logic and Query Loop filters to show elements based on like status and counts. Great for feeds of liked posts on user account pages.
Keep the Goal Simple
The best use of likes is quick feedback, not complicated social mechanics. Use the Like System to make your content feel responsive and to spot popular material faster, then keep the rest of your member experience focused on access, progress, and completion.
